Dad,
This week was legit. Actually it was slow, but it was legitified on Sunday evening by two things: first, the sun didn't go down until seven thirty which was awesome. We survived the winter where the sun goes down by four fifteen! and second, and more importantly. Oscar was baptized at five o clock. He was baptized by his brother in law Francisco, who was baptized this last valentines day, and his sister Marisol (was baptized with her husband Fransisco a month ago) gave a powerful talk. So powerful that the bishops mouth was left wide open in shock.
Other than that the miracles keep coming each week, the trials of faith still occur, however these last two and a half transfers with Elder Reyes have really helped me raise my faith, and my vision in what the Lord can do, when two are dedicated to one cause, and do it without fear. Most of the people we teach our from southern Mexico, focused in Guerrero, and some from Jalisco and Michoacan, though there are people from Guatemala and other parts of Mexico as well. There are a couple south Americans in the ward as well. Pretty much everyone comes here to work. If there was money in their towns they would have stayed there, but most are from tiny towns with terrible schools/living situations so they have no knowledge/skills so there is no way to make money if they were to leave their impoverished town, so they come here. For those with vision, it usually works out, for those without vision most of their money is just wasted on booze so no progress is made. All of the mixteco people are super short, I'm pretty sure that most of the woman are legal midgets. its kind of funny to stand next to them.
