Things are BOMB in Othello. Transfers are next week and I am literally praying that I am staying. This is my fourth area. Warden, Spokane, Royal and Othello. Marisol and Francisco(married couple) were baptized this week, and after months of opposition they finally made it this far. Elder Reyes and I want to come back in a year to see their sealing. Yesterday at church, a mere five hours before the baptism Marisol said she didn't want to be baptized. We went into another room and listened to her through the tears explain their relationship problems. After my comp and I talked for a minute our ward mission leader talked and after five minutes we saw no progress. Following the spirit we went and got a ward missionary who is the humblest and most legit guy - maybe in the entire world - who also speaks Mixteco, the language they speak. He came in and they talked for half an hour in mixteco. We had no idea what was going on, we just prayed with all our mights. When he finished things had improved drastically setting us up for a blessing. We blessed them both and the spirit was bomber than bomb and at the end they said that they wanted to be baptized together. Such a miracle. That occurred after having to overcome several other concerns they said the last ten days in which they said they didn't want to be baptized this day... in the end they did. They will be blessed. One of the bomb est families I have ever taught, if not the bomb est.I can't begin to tell you how legit those two are. Certainly they will be sealed in the temple next February. My companion and I have made a pact to be there.
In short things here are great. I would write more but my wrists are hurting. prayers to keep me in Othello would also be appreciated. ;)
Transfers are next week and I SINCERELY want to stay in Othello. This place rocks and good things are happening on every side of the pueblo. Man I love mixtecos, if only I could speak the language. Luckily Lauro can translate. He is the man of mans. So legit.
I don't know what else to say other than I'm scared that I'm leaving because this is like the hot spot of the mission but not after laboring hard core to make it happen, I just don't want to miss it. Especially now that we will have 8 members that speak mixteco, they will be a huge blessing for the work in mixteco, which will cause this place to ignite! I need to learn mixteco. I'm stressed out but it will all work out. I'm still on a spiritual high from how Lauro saved the day yesterday with Francisco and Marisol and he talked with them for 30 minutes amidst tears, and then how the spirit directed the words of the blessing.
Yes I got the tie. It's bomb, I got like a hundred compliments for it. I need red and blue ties in the future. LOVE YOU -Elder Jacobson
